DEERFIELD – A Deerfield man is facing multiple traffic violations after crashing his car into a ditch on Stillwater Road around 7:15 Tuesday night.
No one was injured in the crash, but Robert Johnson, 53, of Hossac Road in Deerfield was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license for a subsequent offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, and a marked lanes violation.
Sgt. Harry Ruddock noticed Johnson’s red Nissan speed past him while he was on patrol, according to the Deerfield Police Department’s official Facebook page. After the vehicle sped out of sight, Ruddock requested other officers to be on the look out for the vehicle but did not pursue it. A few minutes later, he located the crashed vehicle and Johnson on Stillwater Road.
South County EMS and the Deerfield Fire Department also responded to the crash.
