AMHERST — Travelers can expect delays but not road closings as a short new construction project will starts Monday on Northeast Street.
Warner Brothers LLC will be reclaiming and regrading the road between Strong Street and Shutesbury Road from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Construction will continue through Thursday, according to a press release from Jason O. Skeels, the town engineer. The first asphalt coating is anticipated the following week.
The road will remain open to through traffic, but the release encouraged travelers to seek alternative routes, drive slowly and follow the instructions of police officers directing traffic on site.
