A BUSMAN’S HOLIDAY
It’s a good thing British organist Alan Saggerson didn’t hold the parking ticket he got on his last trip to Northampton against our fair city. Saggerson was cited for parking the wrong way on a two-way street, something the Brits have no law against. (He paid his $15 fine and says he hopes there’s no warrant outstanding for his arrest.)
Saggerson was on an organ-playing vacation on that fateful day, when he stopped into First Churches of Northampton to try out its historic Johnson-Skinner organ. Now, on another vacation in these parts, he’ll play a fundraiser concert at the church (for the organ) Sunday at 7 p.m. Free, but, of course, donations are welcomed. 129 Main St.
ANOTHER GOOD BET
The Valtchev-Tchekoratova Duo, Bulgarian musicians and Juilliard School graduates, will perform three sonatas for violin and piano Sunday at 3 p.m. Memorial Hall Museum, 8 Memorial St., Old Deerfield. $10 at the door ($5 for students and seniors).
