STOCKBRIDGE — Southampton Town Administrator Heather Budrewicz is one of three finalists for a job in Stockbridge.
Budrewicz and two other applicants were selected as finalists from an initial pool of 27 candidates, which was then narrowed down to nine people. The town’s Select Board is expected to interview the three finalists for the post next month, according to Danielle Fillio, the board’s administrative assistant.
Budrewicz said though she loves the community and people in Southampton, the Stockbridge job would give her more opportunities to advance her career.
“I’ve been here for almost 2 ½ years and I would like to continue my education in the professional arena with additional certifications, more training and more opportunities,” she said. “The town unfortunately is just not in the financial position to allow me to do so.”
She said she’d like to pursue certifications in procurement, which is a large part of her job, additional education in human resources, and take courses through the International City/County Management Association.
Budrewicz started work in Southampton in March 2014. She previously worked as an assistant city clerk in Haverhill before being named acting city clerk in 2013.
She has a law degree from Massachusetts School of Law.
Last year she was one of five finalists for a town administrator job in Rutland.
The Stockbridge job will pay up to $110,000 annually.
Budrewicz’s salary for the 2017 fiscal year is $58,262.40, according to Southampton Town Accountant Vicki Moro.
