HADLEY — A motorist experiencing engine trouble pulled off Route 9 Friday afternoon and exited his truck before it burst into flames, according to Hadley Police.
Hadley Police Officer Jesse Green said the driver reported hearing a popping sound under the hood of his 1987 Chevy pick-up truck and decided to pull onto Aqua Vitae Road at around 3:20 p.m.
“It was fully engulfed by the time we got there,” Green said.
The Hadley Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the flames within minutes. No one was injured, according to police.
“It was towed after that,” Green said “Nothing suspicious.”
