NORTHAMPTON – A 45-year-old Hardwick man suffered serious injuries after a vehicle collided with his motorcycle on Route 10 at 2:41 p.m. on Sunday.
The man was traveling north on Route 10 near Racing Mart when a 23-year-old Northampton woman hit the man as she was taking a left out of the parking lot. The woman told police she did not see the motorcyclist, according to Northampton police.
The man was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with non-life threatening injuries.
The woman was unharmed. She was issued a civil citation for failure to use care in starting.
Police said the woman’s front bumper was damaged on the passenger side, which means the man likely took evasive action to avoid the collision.
Additional information about those involved was not available Sunday night.
