LEEDS — Northampton’s animal control officer, Shayla Howe, spent part of her Wednesday helping rescue a raccoon stuck in a sewer drain.

Howe was called to the VA medical center in Leeds to help police and maintenance workers who spotted the raccoon. After some time and the assistance of some cooking grease, Howe was able to free the animal unharmed, police wrote in a Facebook post.
