Can Hampshire County afford to have a sheriff who is ignorant of the law? I was witness to candidate Patrick Cahillane’s apparent misuse of Sheriff’s Department vehicles and uniformed officers at the Chesterfield 4th of July parade.
To have placed them in his campaign contingent in the parade was a violation of state law for all to see. Cahillane says he has years of experience helping to manage the sheriff’s office. Apparently they haven’t been enough.
Hampshire County and the staff at the jail and the House of Corrections deserve better.
