Kudos to the University of Massachusetts! Five years ago it had designs on a lovely field for a solar project. Neighborhood opposition, the recognition of construction limitations on wetlands and wise heads prevails. Today – hurrah – it is installing extensive solar panels in parking lots all over the campus.
Shame on Hampshire College!
Doesn’t it have parking lots and rooftops appropriate for solar acres? Every inch of earth violated by cement and huge industrial apparatus on campus land is lost to sustainable production and nature habitat – priceless resources rapidly and radically disappearing from her – The Earth.
