HADLEY – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is warning drivers of a one-lane traffic restriction Thursday and Friday on Route 9.

Crews will be performing water main connections in the area of Route 9 and Route 47. The water main is part of work to rebuild that intersection.

The lane restriction begins at 9 p.m. Thursday and is expected to continue through 5 a.m. on Friday.

Police will control traffic with alternating directions of travel, meaning one side of traffic will be able to proceed through and then the other, MassDOT said via a press release.

The work is scheduled to change with weather conditions.
