EASTHAMPTON – An early morning bedroom fire caused minor damage to a home Thursday.
An Easthampton fire crew responded to 88 Plain Street at 12:05 a.m. after a 911 call. First arriving crews reported smoke throughout the house, but no visible flames.
According to a Thursday press release, the homeowner reported the fire extended to a mattress in a bedroom. The cause was determined to be from a candle next to the bed that had been knocked over.
Damage to the home was estimated to be $1,000. There were no injuries reported.
Holyoke officials also responded to the scene.
