When Jeff Baker saw this bear in his yard on Upland Road in Leeds last month he was amused.
“The bear appears to be smiling (or sizing me up as a snack!),” he wrote in an email to the Gazette. The animal, which is wearing a tracking device, was taking its usual route through his neighborhood, he says. “It seems like this bear has been around more often this summer,” he wrote, “mostly going through compost containers, perhaps due to the drought.”
Baker, who is a video producer at Smith College in Northampton, shot the photograph from his porch using a 300mm zoom lens.
