GRANBY — Incoming state funds to complete construction of a town veterans’ memorial will be announced by Sen. Eric P. Lesser at a Tuesday gathering.
Lesser will join Friends of Granby’s Veterans at 10 a.m. to announce the $35,000 funding at the memorial, 258 East State Street.
The money will assist the organization in finishing the project.
“Granby has a proud tradition of answering the call to serve our nation and with a new monument, this sacrifice will be honored by Granby’s residents now and for generations into the future,” said Lesser.
The funding announcement follows Lesser’s successful amendment to the fiscal year 2017 state budget, which in August was signed into law by Governor Charlie Baker.
