HOLYOKE – Drinks and merriment will abound at the Connecticut River Craft Brewfest – set for this weekend.
Some 50-plus beers from local brewers will be featured during the event, which runs Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.
Beer tastings are unlimited.
In past years, an estimated 1,500 have flocked to the banks of the Connecticut River to kick off the fall season with the brewfest.
Brewfest committee member Jon Gilburg describes the Holyoke Canoe Club location as “stunning.” The club is on Old Ferry Road.
The event has changed names and organizers over the years, but has existed for close to 20 years, Gilburg said.
“There’s just a great vibe, a relaxed and fun atmosphere,” he said.
Most brewers will be on site, pouring and talking about their beers. A homebrew competition is set to run noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
All weekend long, live music and food from Lincoln grill will complement the craft beer.
Parking is free, while a limited number of one-day and weekend tickets are sold at discounts of $5 and $10 in advance.
Full price admission is generally available through the weekend at the gate. Cash is preferred.
