Voters will go to the polls today to decide Democratic candidates for Hampshire County Sheriff, 3rd Hampshire District Representative, 8th District Governor’s Council and Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden Senate.

The race to fill the seat of retiring Rep. Ellen Story has attracted the most candidates. Vira Douangmany Cage, Solomon Goldstein-Rose, Sarah la Cour, Bonnie MacCracken, Eric Nakajima and Lawrence O’Brien are the six facing one another for the Democratic nomination.

In the sheriff’s race, Patrick Cahillane, Kavern Lewis and Melissa Perry are running against one another to replace Robert Garvey, who is retiring.

Mary Hurley and Jeffrey Morneau are the two candidates for the Governor’s Council race.

The state Senate seat, held by Ben Downing who is not seeking re-election, has attracted three Democratic candidates: Rinaldo Del Gallo, Andrea Harrington and Adam Hinds.
