AMHERST – Those traveling Amity Street near the Jones Library next week should expect traffic delays, according to the Department of Public Works.
Warner Brothers LLC will be installing the electrical and fiber optic conduit across Amity Street between the Amity Street Parking Lot and the Jones Library beginning Monday between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The road will remain open to through traffic but travelers should expect minor delays.
Additional trench, road patching, granite installation and sidewalk work will continue in this area for the remainder of the week. The north sidewalk and adjacent parking stalls will remain fenced off and closed. The Jones Library will remain accessible via the driveway entrance. Pedestrians are advised to use the crosswalks at North Pleasant St or North Prospect Street.
