NORTHAMPTON — Those wishing to come into Northampton may need to adjust their approach.

The exit 20 off-ramp on I-91 southbound in Northampton at 9 p.m. on Friday to allow for paving work, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).

The exit 20 ramp is scheduled to reopen no later than 9 a.m. the next day.

During the closure, crews will be paving in the area of I-91.

Drivers will be able to use exit 18 to access Route 5, according to MassDOT.

MassDOT also issued a reminder to drivers to avoid distractions and be alert when driving in work zones where traffic lanes may be closed, narrowed or shifted, and speed limits are reduced.
