NORTHAMPTON — A falling tree damaged a house on Cooke Avenue and brought down utility lines Saturday afternoon, according to the Northampton Fire Department.
The department responded to 1 Cooke Ave. at 2 p.m. Saturday for a report of a fallen tree, officials said. There were no injuries, though the home sustained structural damage.
According to the fire department, the tree fell because it was rotting. The roof and side of the house were damaged when truck by the tree. The city building inspector assessed the damage and determined the occupants may remain in the home.
The cost of the damage had not yet been determined.
According to the fire department, the utility lines were repaired by 3 p.m.
