Police are investigating an incident in which a woman reported being robbed and assaulted on Riverglade Drive at 1:36 a.m. Sunday. Both her cellphone and shoes, which she said were taken, were found at the spot where the alleged robbery occurred.
A car in the Big Y supermarket parking lot, 175 University Drive, rolled from its spot and struck a person walking in the parking lot, pinning that person against another vehicle at 10:37 a.m. Friday. The victim was taken by Amherst Fire Department ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, police said.
Samuel Rohde, 26, of Turners Falls, was arrested on charges of shoplifting and resisting arrest after employees of Wal-Mart, at 180 N. King St., reported to police that Rohde was observed placing store items in his clothing. Rohde attempted to flee when officers approached him but was apprehended nearby when he tripped, police said. He left the store with about $70 in merchandise, according to police.
