In “The Dixie Swim Club,” five Southern women, former members of their college swim team, get together for a single weekend each August at a beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up on — and meddle in — each other’s lives. Focusing on four of those weekends and spanning a period of 33 years, the comedy follows the ups and downs of Sheree, the spunky team captain, who desperately tries to maintain her organized and “perfect” life; Dinah, an overachieving lawyer whose victories in the courtroom contrast with the frustrations of her personal life; Lexie, who is determined to hold on to her looks and youth as long as possible; the self-deprecating and acerbic Vernadette, whose tendency is to embrace the chaos; and sweet and eager-to-please Jeri Neal, who experiences a late entry into motherhood.
Performances at Memorial Hall, 51 Bridge St. in Shelburne Falls, are Fri. and Sat., Sept. 16-17 and 23-24 at 7:30 p.m. and Sun., Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. $15 general; $12 seniors and students. dixieswimtickets@gmail
