NORTHAMPTON – A bicyclist who struck a car stopped in traffic Tuesday morning near the roundabout under construction at Pleasant and Conz Streets was not injured, according to Northampton Police

Police said the bicyclist was evaluated by emergency responders at the scene but was not transported to the hospital.

Police said the driver of a sedan was traveling north on Pleasant Street and came to a stop at the roundabout construction. The bicyclist, whom police did not identify, then rode into the stopped vehicle.

Police said the accident remains under investigation.

Northampton Police Capt. John Cartledge reminded bicyclists Tuesday to “be aware of your surroundings, take appropriate measures when riding in traffic, and follow the rules of the road.”
