After living in Northampton for many years and faithfully reading the Gazette, I’d like to give my opinion on how I see the thinking of the dominant majority in this area: 50 percent of their mindset goes to skin color.
For some reason, race and ethnicity is a huge obsession for people in this area. It’s what liberals obsess over, first and foremost. They seem to have a large cloud of guilt hanging over their heads for things they had no part in.
Another 25 percent of their mindset is devoted to sexuality and who we sleep with. I remember 30 years ago liberals complaining about wanting government out of their bedrooms, but not any longer.
Now it seems to be front and center for every new law we come up with. And the remaining 25 percent of the liberal mindset seems to be devoted to demonizing themselves and their country. A huge percentage of people in the Five Colleges area seem to be consumed with hating their own race, their own country, and the people that protect them, like the police and the military.
