SOUTH HADLEY – The fifth annual BOOK IT for the South Hadley Public Library 5K race and 2-mile fitness walk will be held on Saturday.
The event, hosted by the Friends of the South Hadley Public Library, will have onsite registration beginning at 8 a.m.
The race starts at 9 a.m. and includes scenic views through the South Hadley Falls neighborhood.
Individual registration is $25, and includes a t-shirt, timing fee, refreshments and chances to win raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Children age 13 and under can run for free, and purchase a T-shirt for $10.
Over $3,500 was raised last year for the library’s summer reading programs. Funds from the upcoming race will go towards next year’s summer reading programs for people of all ages.
