The UMass men’s soccer team broke through on Saturday, beating Brown 2-0 for its first win of the season.
Henry Steinkamp and Alex DeSantis (Belchertown) scored first-half goals at Rudd Field for the Minutemen.
Jorge Becerra made six saves as the Minutemen (1-5-1) posted their first shutout of the season.
Konrad Gorich and Connor O’Dwyer assisted Steinkamp on the first goal. Casey Hamill helped DeSantis notch his second goal of the season.
Amherst 5, Pine Manor 0 — Fikayo Ajayi, Christopher Martin, Bryce Ciambella, Jimmy McMillian and Aidan Murray each scored for visiting Amherst (3-0-1) on Sunday.
Amherst 1, Middlebury 1 — Andrew Orozco scored as top-ranked Amherst pulled to a draw on the road Saturday.
Kieran Bellew had an assist and Lee Owen made five saves.
Providence 3, UMass 0 — Cassidy Babin made five saves but the Minutewomen (2-3-1) fell on the road Sunday night.
Middlebury 1, Amherst 0 — Hannah Guzzi stopped two shots but Amherst (2-2) fell on the road Saturday.
Smith 4, Clark 0 — Jordan Isaacs (assist) scored three goals and Meredith Roberts had the other as the Pioneers (4-1-1) won at home Saturday.
Babson 2, Mount Holyoke 0 — Zoe Marshall made five saves but the Lyons (3-3) fell on the road Saturday.
Elms 2, Regis 0 — Kelsey Shea (Belchertown) scored as the Blazers (5-1-1) won on the road Saturday.
Western New England 2, Eastern Nazarene 1 — Brooke Labrie (Granby) scored with 3:26 left to lift the Golden Bears (3-4-1) at home Saturday.
Christina Delude (Belchertown) had two assists.
Amherst 1, Wentworth 0 — Laura Greer scored in the second half as Amherst (3-2) won at home Sunday.
UMass 3, Harvard 1 — Melanie Kreusch scored twice and Sarah Hawkshaw added one goal as the Minutewomen (4-3) won on the road Sunday.
Hailey Cockrum added two assists, while Izzie Delario had one helper.
Emily Hazard finished with four saves for UMass.

Smith 2, WPI 1 — Elsie Odhiambo and Julia Hamilton (assist) each scored as the Pioneers (3-3) won on the road Saturday.
Mount Holyoke 2, Thomas (Maine) 1 — Charlotte Wagner and Colby Newsham each scored second-half goals from Mirjam Keochakian as the Lyons (2-3) came from behind on the road Saturday.
Lasell 4, Elms 1 — Izzy Contois (Conway) scored from Mindy Esposito (Sunderland) as the Lasers (6-1) won at home.
Tufts 3, Amherst 0 — Emily Kolsky had 10 kills for AC (4-2) in its 25-21, 25-17, 29-27 road loss Saturday.
Babson 3, Smith 0 — Kimani Freeman had five kills and two aces but the Pioneers (2-6) fell 25-16, 25-9, 25-21 on the road Saturday.
Emerson 3, Mount Holyoke 0 — Joy Maran had 11 kills and Natalie Lyon added 22 assists but the Lyons (2-5) fell 25-16, 25-15, 25-16 on the road. Saturday.
Southern Vermont 3, Elms 2; Utica 3, Elms 1 — On Saturday in the Cardinal Classic, Hannah Adams (Deerfield) had 16 kills and 29 digs and Haley Asselin (South Hadley) added seven kills and seven digs but the Blazers fell in five to Southern Vermont.
Alicia Beaupre (Belchertown) had 10 digs for the Blazers (1-9) in the loss to host Utica.
UMass Dartmouth Invitational — Mount Holyoke’s Sunny Shan placed first in 19:56 on the 5-kilometer course, Saturday.
Wellesley Invitational — Morgan Yurosek placed first with a 149 and Hamie Gracie was second with a 152 as Amherst won the tournament, Sunday.
Duke Nelson Invitational — Cameron Clark was 13th (152) as Amherst placed 11th Sunday in Middlebury, Vermont.
Blazer Fall Invitational —
Nate Patterson (Frontier Regional) shot a 160 (78-82) to tie for 14th for runner-up Rhode Island College, Sunday at Hickory Ridge Golf Club.
Chris Soderberg (Northampton) fired a 159 (79-80) and finished 12th for fifth-place Elms.
