HUNTINGTON — 911 emergency call service was down in Huntington and Chester for much of Monday because of technical problems, according to Massachusetts State Police.
The State Police handle all 911 dispatch services for both towns, including landline 911 calls. The service was off line Monday morning and was restored around 8 p.m.
Huntington and Chester residents were advised to call 911 for emergency service by cellphone, or to dial 413-586-1508 from a land line. No other communities were affected by the issue, State Police said.
