AMHERST — University of Massachusetts Amherst officials Wednesday named the student who was struck by a vehicle the previous evening.

The student, Kyle Yeh, 19, was running when he was hit, according to UMass spokesman Edward Blaguszewski.

Yeh was taken by ambulance to BayState Medical Center in Springfield with non-life threatening injuries, Blaguszewski said.

The accident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Mullins Way. The vehicle that struck him was traveling west on Massachusetts Avenue. The name of the driver was not released.

Blaguszewski said there is no pedestrian crosswalk in the area where Yeh was struck.
