Young vegan urges yes vote on Question 3

A little more than a year ago, my sister convinced me to be vegan, and not too long after, I became an animal activist. At first, I was just signing online petitions and occasionally leafleting downtown. But now I am taking Question 3 as an opportunity to promote animal rights.

The ballot question would help allow animals in factory farms move around and be healthy. These donโ€™t sound like huge concepts, but in fact most factory farmed chickens canโ€™t stand up and โ€œcage freeโ€ means they are cramped together with the space of an iPad.

Pigs and cows are beaten, tortured, and who knows what else. But by voting yes, we can stop this, because however rich factory farms are, they have to obey these laws if Question 3 passes.

You can also help your own health, the earth, and animals by going vegan, like me. And in case anyone cares, I am a 10-year-old and I am doing everything I can to stop climate change and animal cruelty, which are linked together.
