AMHERST – Two new patrol officers are joining the Amherst Police Department.
Justin H. Satkowski, 24, of Hadley, and Molly O. Farber, 24, of Palmer, were recently appointed to the force by Police Chief Scott P. Livingstone, following a selection process that included interviews, physical and psychological testing and meetings with Livingstone, Town Manager Paul Bockelman and Human Resources Director Deborah Radway.
Both officers are beginning a 12-week field officer training program.
Satkowski, son of Joseph and Joanne Satkowski of Hadley, is a 2010 Hopkins Academy graduate and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology, law and society at George Mason University in 2014.
Previously employed as a rental office manager at Sportsman’s Marina in Hadley, Satkowski graduated from state police academy in New Braintree this month.
Farber, daughter of Tracy and David Farber of Shrewsbury, is a 2008 graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Worcester and earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and criminal justice certificate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Previously employed as a Northampton Police officer, Farber graduated from the municipal police academy in Springfield in February.
