The Frontier Regional boys soccer team defeated Smith Academy 2-0 on Wednesday in Hatfield.

Zach Hamilton and Ethan LaFleur scored goals for the Red Hawks, Hamilton on a penalty kick at the beginning of the second half. LaFleur’s late game goal was assisted by Ian Newman.

Jack Hession had 12 saves for the Falcons.

Frontier improved to 5-2-2 overall (4-0 Schmid), while Smith Academy fell to 3-5-1 (1-3 McGrath South).

Hopkins Academy 1, Athol 0 — Vance Canella put in the game winner in the eighth minute assisted by Mike Curran at home.

Jack Feltovic made one save for Hopkins (4-6-1, 2-2-1 Schmid).

Belchertown 3, Hampshire Regional 1 — Alec Morgado scored Belchertown’s first goal early in the second half. Evan Fournier scored the game’s two remaining goals for the Orioles (8-3).

Ioannis Iatroudis had eight saves for Hampshire (6-2-1) and Tanner Clark recorded eight for Belchertown.

Amherst 0, Monson 2 — Despite five saves from Iani Ferreira, the Hurricanes (5-2-2) lost at Monson.

Pioneer Valley Christian 4, Smith Vocational 1 — Anthony Palazzi scored the only goal for Smith on the night 30 minutes into the game with an assist from Jacob Rafus, tying the game at 1 for the remainder of the first half.

Brett Hasletine had nine saves on the night for the Vikings (2-8-1).

Girls soccer

Mahar Regional 1, Hopkins Academy 0 — Miranda Pitta stayed busy with 19 saves for the Golden Hawks (8-2).

Girls volleyball

Belchertown 3, West Springfield 2 — The Orioles won the first, third and fifth sets of a road win. Cara McKenzie recorded 16 kills for Belchertown (9-3) and served 4 aces as well. Audra Hale contributed 7 kills, while teammate Becca Brozek served perfectly, scoring two aces on two attempts.

Belchertown improves to 9-3 on the season.

Amherst 3, Agawam 0 — Periya Yath made 20 digs and served three aces to keep the Hurricanes unbeaten 26-24, 25-23, 25-11.

Meg Rice had a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs, while Claire Basler-Chang added 11 kills.

Teya Nolan added 39 assists for Amherst (12-0, 3-0 Eastern).
