The Amherst Regional girls volleyball fell behind after the first set against Minnechaug Friday.
It didn’t seem to bother the Hurricanes, who rallied for the 25-27, 25-14, 25-21, 25-16 win in Wilbraham.
The Hurricanes (13-0, 5-0 Eastern) remained perfect, despite watching their streak of nine straight sweeps come to an end.
Claire Basler-Chang had five aces, 11 kills and 13 digs, while Nina Hayes added 10 kills and 12 digs.
Teya Nolan chipped in with eight aces and eight digs.
Longmeadow 3, Frontier Regional 0 — Lauren Davenport had six kills and nine digs, Ella Deane added 15 assists and 10 digs, while Selayna Bathurst chipped in with eight kills and 11 digs but the Red Hawks (5-7, 1-3 Eastern) fell 25-21, 26-24, 25-22 at home.
South Hadley 3, Pioneer Regional 1— The Tigers (10-2, 3-0 Suburban) stayed perfect in league play with the 25-18, 25-13, 23-25, 25-11 win at home.
Kiana Turner had five aces, seven kills and four digs, Kaylyn Labrecque added three kills and five blocks, while Nicole Niemiec chipped in with five aces, four kills and four digs for South Hadley.
Granby 1, Belchertown 1 – Kayla Henry scored late in the game for the Orioles (6-0-4) to force a tie against the Rams (9-2-2).
Lauren Leblanc picked up an assist, while Samantha Birks had three saves for Belchertown.
Summer Molin found the back of the net for Granby. Nora Young notched an assist and Brooklyn Baran stopped six shots.
Mahar 3, Smith Academy 0 — The Senators were too much to handle for the Falcons at home.
Gabby Tisdale had 16 saves for Smith Academy (3-6-1).
Easthampton 1, Sabis 0 – Maddie Grabowski scored the lone goal for the Eagles (6-5), to get them past the Bulldogs in a home victory.
Aubrey Fugiel picked up the assist on Grabowski’s goal. Lily Pioli had three saves for Easthampton.
Hopkins Academy 7, Greenfield 1 — The Golden Hawks (9-2) led 4-0 at the break en route to qualifying for the postseason.
Leah Picard had three goals, while AJ Mitchell, Isabel Flynn, Amy Robbins and Emelia Aiken-Hafner each had one.
Margaret Michalak had one assist, while Miranda Pitta (four saves) and Gabby Palmisano (four saves) split halves in goal.
South Hadley 4, Holyoke 0 – Lindsay Marjanski scored the first goal of the match and the Tigers (6-3-1) never looked back.
Maeve Fitzgerald, Alexa Blaney and Carla Jarrett all found the back of the net. Kami Sierra and Morgan Harrington both tallied an assist.
Sophie Gatzounas collected seven saves in the shutout.
Gateway Regional 7, Mohawk 0 – Jessica Van Heynigen erupted for four goals in a home victory for the Gators (8-2-1).
Kendyll Wing struck twice, while Sam Belardo (assist) scored once. Rachel LeBarron had two assists, while Angela Wright and Ava Auclair each had one.
Becca Harmon did not face a shot on goal.
Hampshire Regional 6, Hopkins Academy 0 – Dillon Pooler scored twice for the Raiders (7-2-1) in a home victory.
Regan Bishop, Dan McColgan, Harry George and Alex Rizos each found the net once. For Rizos, it was the first goal of his varsity career.
Matt Babyak, Pooler, Bishop and Anthony Nardi all had assists.
Ioannis Iatroudis and Mike McColgan combined for three saves for Hampshire.
Smith Vocational 4, Ware 1 – Anthony Palazzi scored a goal and picked up three assists for the Vikings (3-8-1) in a home win.
Jake Rafus, Tomaz Oliveira and Cam Perry all found the back of the net. Perry also notched an assist.
Jaime Mikalonis collected seven saves for Smith.
Southwick 4, Frontier 0 – Peter Bronke made eight saves in a road loss.
The Red Hawks (5-3-2) put seven shots on goal.
Smith Academy 1, Mahar 0 – Julian Zapata’s goal 18 minutes into the match was enough to get the Falcons (4-5-1) past the Senators on the road.
Zapata got the goalie out of position and scored far post.
Jack Hession stopped four shots for Smith Academy.
Granby 5, Pioneer Regional 0 – Joe Desormier scored two goals and picked up an assist in an away victory.
Michael Sosa and Ryan Walz both found the back of the net for the Rams, who were also credited with an own goal.
Ryan Bachand tallied an assist. Zach Gorham stopped two shots for Granby.
Easthampton 2, South Hadley 2 — Jon Samlall scored from Alex Lerch with five minutes left as the Tigers (1-9-2) pulled earned the draw at home.
Lerch assisted Colin Mitchell as South Hadley took a 1-0 lead.
Two goals from Tyler Karakula gave the Eagles (4-5-2) a 2-1 lead. The second goal came with eight minutes left.
Jacob Bacis had one assist and Drew Caires made two saves for Easthampton.
Nehemiah Wilson made seven saves for the Tigers.
Northampton 4, Central 0 — Jameson Miller scored the first goal for the Blue Devils (4-5-3, 2-0-2 Moriarty) en route to the win at home.
Nick Dubuque, Nick Capers and Nick Heafey all found the back of the net. Miller, Dubuque, Capers and Evan Moulton all tallied an assist.
Ian Hutchins had seven saves for Northampton.
Northampton 1, West Springfield 1 — The Blue Devils (7-2-3, 3-0-2 Central) took a first-half lead, but the Terriers (5-1-6, 2-0-3) tied it late in the second half.
Hamp is unbeaten over its last four games (3-0-1) and is one point shy of qualifying for the playoffs.
Anna Kerwood scored from Abby Baldwin, while Danielle Parent made three saves for Northampton.
Westfield 133.075, Hampshire Regional 126.225, Agawam 122.50 — Catrina Touchette placed second on floor with a score of 8.8 and was third on vault (8.075) as the Raiders (1-3) split in Westfield.
