DEERFIELD — Several bags of cocaine were confiscated when a Hadley man was arrested Sunday by Deerfield Police.

According to a post on the Police Department’s Facebook page, the drugs were found in the man’s car during a traffic stop.

An officer “was patrolling Sunderland Road when he checked a license plate of a passing motorist,” and found that the man had a suspended license, according to the Facebook post relates.

“This time the officers chose to arrest him,” the post continues. While the man was stepping out of the vehicle, the officers “noticed what they believed to be packaged cocaine in the door pocket.” A subsequent search of the vehicle found several bags of cocaine “ready for sale.”

The man is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Greenfield District Court.
