Robert David Bobskill, 69, of Springfield, was arrested at 12:14 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot at Townehouse Apartments, 50 Meadow St., on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (fourth offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger, operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked as the result of being an habitual traffic offender, concealing his identity with a number plate violation and forging or misusing a Registry of Motor Vehicles document.
Police responded three times to Clark House, 22 Lessey St., forย disturbances involving a tenant and two guestsย between 8:24 and 10:57 p.m. Monday. Two people wereย issued trespass notices and escorted from the apartment building.
A black bear and her cub observed on Salem Street at 5:29 p.m. Monday fled into the woods when police arrived. At 6:27 p.m., the two bears were seen near the Dunkinโ Donuts, 312ย College St., but were not found by police.
David P. Arslan, 29, of Florence, was arrested about 5 p.m. Tuesday on charges of possessing class A and E drugs and shoplifting. Police responded to Wal-Mart, 180 N. King St., after staff reported they detained Arslan after he attempted to leave the store with a package of toilet paper without paying. Police said Arslan also hadย โseveral bagsโ ofย heroin, which he tried to pass off as gum by concealing themย in his mouth. Police also said Arslan was in possession of 10 mg of Ambien, for which he did not have a prescription.
