NORTHAMPTON – An engine malfunction from a truck on Interstate 91 South caused traffic delays Tuesday morning.
The Northampton Fire Department and Massachusetts State Police responded at 7:30 a.m. to just north of Exit 18 on Tuesday and the scene was clear about an hour later, according to Northampton Fire Captain William Schuetze.
“It was a piece in the motor that overheated,” Schuetze said.
Traffic was down to one lane as emergency officials responded, backing up traffic to Exit 20.
The vehicle, a tractor-trailer, was towed away, according to Schuetze.
