NORTHAMPTON — Shopping for the most wonderful time of the year is even more wonderful around here.
Last week in its November issue, Yankee Magazine named Northampton as one of the top five best holiday shopping towns in New England.
They highlighted Main Street, with its displays that feature goods both “quirky” and “classic,” as well as the galleries and boutiques that put an artistic twist on typical holiday shopping.
Shoppers are encouraged not to miss Bag Day on Saturday, November 19, an annual event where they can pick up a special bag and get 20 percent off their purchases at participating stores in Thornes Marketplace.
Yankee Magazine also pointed out Kestrel, Faces and PINCH as shops people need to hit as they explore.
Other destinations on the list include Brattleboro, Vermont; Freeport, Maine; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and Ridgefield, Connecticut.
