Teya Nolan controlled nearly every scoring chance for the Amherst Regional volleyball team in a 3-0 win over Taconic at home Thursday.

The senior setter tallied 27 assists, 10 aces and seven digs in a 25-8, 25-17, 25-17 victory that clinched a perfect home season for the Hurricanes.

They played all of their games at Amherst middle school after water damage rendered Amherst Regionalโ€™s gym floor warped and unusable before the season started.

Amherst (18-0) hit .263 as a team led by 10 kills from Nina Hayes, who also had six digs.

Meg Rice chipped in seven kills and nine digs, while Claire Basler-Chang added eight kills and five digs.

A Saturday visit to Wahconah and Monday game at Agawam separate the Hurricanes from a perfect regular season.

Amherst has only lost two sets all season.

Sabis 3, Easthampton 1 โ€” Samantha Sypek led the Eagles with 31 digs and added three aces in a 25-16, 25-17, 23-25, 29-27 road loss.

Veronica Hing led Easthampton (3-13, 0-8 Southern) with 15 assists and had two aces and six digs.

Meghan Morissette chipped in two kills, three aces and 11 digs, while Samantha Garcia had three kills and eight digs.

Seniors Hing, Morissette and Garcia played their final game for the Eagles.
