Last week brought unseasonably messy weather when a pre-Halloween snowstorm descended onto the Northampton area on Thursday, and this week promises to bring more volatility.
Temperatures will climb toward 70 degrees on Wednesday, with temperatures likely topping out at 67. Area residents can enjoy the abnormally high temps through Thursday evening, when a cold front is expected to sweep the region and remain through the weekend.
โAfter a couple days above normal weโll go back to below normal,โ said meteorologist Bill Simpson of the National Weather Service. โIt seems like weโll be staying, in the next week to 10 days, slightly below normal.โ
Thursday will also bring rain showers in the late morning through early evening. At their highest, Simpson said temperatures will reach the mid-50s over the weekend, with lows in the low to mid-30s.
