GRANBY — The driver of a pickup truck received only minor injuries in a crash Friday morning that one officer described as “horrific.”
Granby police, firefighters and emergency workers responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash around 10:20 a.m. on East State Street.
The vehicle, a 2009 Chevy pick-up truck, was traveling north on Route 202 when the operator, Justin Rosienski, 32, of Belchertown, drove off the road and collided with a tree, according to police.
Police Sgt. Kevin O’Grady said that when officers arrived they found a “horrific crash” scene, but Rosienski was already out of the totaled truck. O’Grady said it was determined that Rosienski was wearing a seat belt and suffered only minor injuries.
There was no indication of what caused the crash, according to O’Grady.
He said police talked with Rosienski who told them he didn’t have any recollection as to why he went off the road. O’Grady said the crash is not under investigation.
The truck had to be towed from the scene. Traffic was delayed for less than an hour as the Route 202 was closed to one lane for about 45 minutes, according to O’Grady.
