The Granby girls soccer team is going to see a familiar opponent in the postseason.

The second-seeded Rams dispatched No. 7 Sabis, 2-0, in the Western Massachusetts Division 3 Tournament quarterfinal round, Monday in Granby.

The victory set up a rematch of the 2015 sectional finals with Southwick. Granby won that game 2-1.

Wednesday’s semifinal between the defending champion Rams (14-2-3) and the third-seeded Rams (10-4-4) is at 5 p.m. at South Hadley High School.

Southwick beat visiting South Hadley, 2-0, in their quarterfinal match on Monday.

Kaeleigh Croteau scored from Nora Young in first half, while Summer Molin tallied a goal from Erin Mikalchus in the second half.

Brooklyn Baran made two saves for the shutout.

Granby’s defense held Sabis leading score Avalon Matteo (19 goals) scoreless.

“We limited them to very few opportunities. Tried to control midfield and create as many chances as we could,” Granby coach Bob Weaver said. “If we could control the midfield we figured we’d have the best chance. Erin and Trystin (Burger) were really good in the midfield. Caroline Cyr stepped up as a stopper and in the midfield as well.”

Southwick 2, South Hadley 0 — The seeds matched for the second year in a row and the outcome was the same.

The sixth-seeded Tigers (12-5-2) fell to the No. 3 Rams in the quarterfinal round of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 Tournament Monday.
