The 15 seniors on the Granby boys soccer team know the way to the Western Massachusetts Division 4 Tournament semifinals.
The No. 3 Rams returned to the tournament’s final four for the second consecutive year after beating No. 6 Mount Everett 4-0 on Tuesday in Granby.
Granby (17-2-0) will face No. 2 Lenox (14-2-3) at 5 p.m. Thursday at South Hadley. Lenox beat No. 7 Hopkins Academy, 3-0, in its quarterfinal.
Joe Desormier scored in the first half to put Granby (17-2) up 1-0 at halftime.
Daylon Kongo and Ethan King found the net in the second half, and Desormier added a second goal to finish the scoring.
“We made some adjustments to have better possession and forced Mount Everett to chase the game,” Granby coach Todd Dorman said.
Kongo had two assists, while Weishan Li and Ryan Bachand also added an assist each.
Noah Bleakley stifled the Eagles’ biggest offensive threats in the final third.
Zach Gorham made five saves to keep the clean sheet in Granby’s 15th consecutive win.
“They’re excited to back in the semis,” Dorman said. “There’s a tremendous amount of experience in this group.”
Gateway Regional 1, Renaissance 0 — The Gators made the third time count against the Phoenix.
Gateway, which was swept by Renaissance during the regular season, held Eamonn Mahoney scoreless en route to the win in the Western Massachusetts Division 4 Tournament quarterfinal.
The No. 5 Gators (11-5-3) will play No. 1 Monson (14-4-1) on Thursday at 5 p.m. at East Longmeadow. Monson beat Pioneer Christian, 6-0, in its quarterfinal.
Mahoney scored all three goals during Renaissance’s 1-0 and 2-0 victories over the Gators during the regular season.
In the postseason, Gateway’s defense held and Shane Mastello made eight saves, including a couple game-savers, for the shutout.
Nick Cooper scored from Evan Lee at 33:38 of the second half for the Gators.
Center midfielder Jayden Marge controlled a ball out of air and played it forward to Lee, who crossed to Cooper, who then cut it back across to corner of the net for the goal.
