NORTHAMPTON – A few precincts will report Tuesday’s election results a little later than usual because around 50 ballots needed to be hand counted, according to election workers.
The state ballots were either cut too wide or too thick to fit in voting machines, according to Northampton City Clerk Wendy Mazza.
When that happened, the ballots were put in an emergency ballot box so they could be hand counted, Mazza explained.
Overall, Mazza said there were very few issues with ballots.
