SOUTH HADLEY – Police are investigating a bank robbery in which a man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police responded to a report of a robbery at PeoplesBank on Newton Street just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to South Hadley Police Chief Steve Parentela.
No weapons were shown during the robbery, Parentela said.
Police said the suspect, described as a white man with a thin build who is between 5-feet and 5-feet 6 inches tall. The man was wearing blue clothing and fled from the back of the building heading towards Dayton Street on foot.
Parentela said police were at the bank in a matter of seconds as an officer happened to be patrolling area nearby.
