The Audubon Society has reported a variety of recent bird sightings in western Massachusetts.

A mountain bluebird found at the Turners Falls Airport on Sunday was seen through Tuesday, but not reported afterward.

A group of 38 red-throated loons and six northern shovelers were on Lake Pontoosuc on Tuesday. Four red-throated loons were on Onota Lake on Wednesday.

A black scoter and long-tailed duck were found at the southern end of the Quabbin Reservoir.

Thirteen greater scaup and 95 ruddy ducks were seen at Hamilton Reservoir in Holland,

Nine black scoters, 20 ruddy ducks and a red-throated loon were on Richmond Pond.

Continuing reports have been received of the white-fronted goose in Hampden, the northern shrike in Windsor and the brant at the campus pond in Amherst.

Uncommon, lingering or arriving waterfowl reported included American wigeon, lesser and greater scaup, bufflehead, red-breasted merganser, harrier, common loon, horned grebe, pied-billed grebe, double-crested cormorant and American coot.

Other species seen included spotted sandpiper, northern harrier, merlin, American kestrel, horned lark, American pipit, red-breasted nuthatch, hermit thrush, yellow-rumped warbler, vesper sparrow, fox sparrow, rusty blackbird, snow bunting, pine siskin, redpoll, purple finch, evening grosbeak and pine grosbeak.
