NORTHAMPTON — Weather officials are cautioning early morning commuters that they may be up against icy conditions on the road Tuesday morning.
Rain is fully expected Tuesday morning and into the evening, according to the National Weather Service. While unseasonably warm temperatures are expected throughout the Northampton area —a high of 53 degrees and a low of 40 — freezing rain may persist between the hours of 6 and 8 a.m., said Lenore Correia, NWS meteorologist.
“Be aware, (because) roads could be slick,” Correia said. “There could be patches of ice you don’t see. Just take it slow.”
The rain showers are forecast to last through the day and subside in the evening, according to the National Weather Service.
