BELCHERTOWN – A 24-year-old man denied tossing a throwing star at a woman on Thursday.
Stephen J. Williams, of Belchertown, pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and battery on a family or household member and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in Eastern Hampshire District Court Thursday.
Belchertown Police were called to a Park Street apartment Thursday at around 3:40 a.m. for a report of an assault. A woman told police Williams threw a throwing star at her when he became upset, according to court documents.
It was unclear in court documents if the woman was hit with the throwing star. Williams also allegedly grabbed the woman’s arm when she tried to leave. Williams is scheduled to return to court Jan. 17.
