GREENFIELD — Derek Lecompte, 26, of Greenfield, pleaded guilty in Franklin Superior Court Monday to multiple counts of child sexual abuse, tampering with evidence and related charges.

Lecompte was charged in two indictments with aggravated rape and abuse of a child, posing a child in the nude, unnatural acts with a child, conspiracy to tamper with evidence, tampering with evidence, and resisting arrest in connection with incidents that took place in 2013 and 2014.

In an agreed plea accepted by Judge John Agostini, Lecompte was sentenced to 15 to 20 years in state prison, followed by 10 years of probation with numerous terms and conditions of probation, including staying away from children, registering with the Sex Offender Registry Board and wearing a Global Positioning System (GPS) device.

The case was investigated by Detective Sgt. Daniel McCarthy of the Greenfield Police Department and Special Agent Ian Smythe of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Caleb Weiner and Cynthia Von Flatern.
