Brian F. Willnauer, 57, of Northampton was arrested late Saturday night on a charge of operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor, fourth offense, according to police. Police said Willnauer was well over the legal limit when he almost hit a police cruiser on Burt’s Pit Road around 11:30 p.m.

Two Greenfield men were arrested Saturday night for allegedly shoplifting energy drinks from CVS Pharmacy on King Street around 8 p.m. Eric M. Melbourne, 37, was arrested for intimidating a witness, two warrants, shoplifting and possession of a class A drug. Bucky Maynard, 37, was arrested on charges of intimidating a witness, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and shoplifting. A supervisor at CVS suffered a minor abrasion to the forehead during the incident, according to police.

A tractor-trailer struck the railroad bridge on Bridge Street in Northampton at 2 a.m. Saturday. The adult male driver, from Nevada, was issued a citation for not obeying bridge warning signs, police said. The truck sustained about $1,000 in damage while the bridge was undamaged, police said.

An intoxicated male was found banging on the door for the Taco Bell and Kentucky Fried Chicken on King Street just after 12:25 a.m. Saturday. Police said the man was trying to order food. The man left the scene without incident.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance at McDonald’s on King Street around 11:45 p.m. Friday. Three men known to police had gotten into a verbal argument. When police arrived, two of the men had already left the scene. No charges were filed.
