Sophie Gatzounas scored a career-high 41 points for the South Hadley girls basketball team in a 78-46 win at Athol on Friday night.

Gatzounas did damage from the outside for the Tigers, hitting five 3-pointers. She had 17 field goals.

Bella Earle had nine points, while Marley Medina chipped in with eight for the Tigers (6-0).

Sci-Tech 42, Smith Vocational 27 — Shannon Ryan scored 12 points as the Vikings (4-4) lost at home.

Hampshire Regional 59, Easthampton 27 — Katy O’Connor scored 17 points, and the Raiders held the Eagles scoreless in the first quarter of a road win.

Katelyn Pickunka added 10 points for Hampshire (5-2).

Rachel Robinson led Easthampton (5-3) with 11 points.

Ware 55, Smith Academy 35 — Emma Kelly picked up her first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in a road loss.

Vanessa Skawski added seven points for the Falcons (2-5).

Granby 37, Hopkins Academy 27 — The visiting Rams beat the Golden Hawks behind 21 points, 19 rebounds five steals and four blocked shots by Nora Young.

The Golden Hawks (6-1) struggled from the field, but did get 10 points from AJ Mitchell and eight points from Sam Jenks.

Kaeleigh Croteau added seven points for the Rams (3-3).

Frontier Regional 32, Palmer 28 — Ella Deane hit a 3-pointer and scored seven points to lead the Red Hawks (3-3) to a road win.

Boys basketball

Hampshire Regional 66, Monson 54 — Jacob Bihler missed a triple double by a rebound, finishing with 19 points 11 assists and nine rebounds in a road win for the Raiders.

The Raiders (5-2, 2-1 Bi County) lost an early lead and surrendered a 21-0 run by Monson to go into halftime with a deficit.

The Raiders took back the lead in the second half, forcing 31 turnovers in the game.

Matt Babyak had a season-high 22 points for Hampshire, while Greg Laroche added 13 points and six assists.
