Garren Fugiel scored two first-period goals as Easthampton edged Turners Falls, 3-2, in a Fay-Wright League hockey game Saturday at Collins-Moylan Arena in Greenfield.

Mike McColgan added a goal for the Eagles (2-5-0, 2-5-0 Fay-Wright), while Nate Barnes made 15 saves.

Bryan Baumann scored from Dalton DeForest, while Camden Barnes added an unassisted goal for the Indians (0-7-0, 0-4-0).

Jordyn Lavallee made 25 in defeat.

Boys nordic skiing

Amherst Regional placed second behind Mount Greylock in the second Berkshire League meet of the season, Saturday at Wahconah Regional in Dalton.

Greylock won with 21 points. Amherst had 43.

Willy Wright was second overall in 16 minutes, 59 seconds. Kent Yoshikawa of Northfield Mount Hermon won in 16:52.

Luke Sedor Protti was ninth in 17:30 for the Hurricanes, while Ryan Dinger (14th, 19:16) and Orion Cable (18th, 19:27) factored into the scoring.

Girls nordic skiing

Amherst placed sixth in the second Berkshire League meet of the season, Saturday at Wahconah Regional in Dalton.

Mount Greylock won with 12 points. Amherst had 98.

Kendal Pittman was 17th in 22:56 for the Hurricanes. Katherine King (23rd, 23:35), Maya Spalding-Fecher (25th, 23:39) and Stella Wenczel (33rd, 25:03) also contributed for Amherst.

Indoor track

Jack Yanko, of Amherst Regional, placed first in the 2-mile in 9:49.36 at the MSTCA Auerbach Freshman-Sophomore Meet, Sunday at Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

Julia Hopley, of Amherst, was second in the 1,000 in 3:13.73, while teammate Sophia Jacobs-Townsley was second in the 2-mile in 11:36.01.
