The response by the owners of Packards and Bishop’s Lounge (“Bars skeptical of ‘last drinks’ report,” Jan. 6) to falling in the top 65 bars statewide to be the place of last drink before an OUI conviction suggests a total disdain for their responsibilities.
In memory of my dear friend killed by a drunk driver at the age of 20, I write to insist for our safety that Chairman Brian Campedelli and the Northampton License Commission demand reforms while these business owners consider they are doing nothing wrong and aren’t discouraged and “don’t pay too much attention” to the report.
We must all expect the opposite reaction from responsible bar owners.
