I would like to commend the voters of the town of Hadley for their foresight in accepting the overrides on nine articles at their town election (“Yes to all questions in special election,” Jan. 11).
In an era where everyone cries about how much taxes we pay (when in fact we in the USA pay far less taxes than almost all other industrialized nations), the voters of Hadley saw the wisdom in investing in the future of their town for the good of public safety and their senior citizens.
As a nearby neighbor of the town (I live right on the South Hadley/Hadley border), I watched their issues closely and must say that I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw.
For as little as a dollar a day, Hadley residents will reap the benefits of all these investments in the future if their town. Kudos.
